Monday

Monday Morning 1.00am Bus to Dublin

Flight 7am arriving Linate 10.40 am

Transfer to Turin leaving at 11am arriving Turin at 1pm

Check in to hotel

returning to hotel for 6.30pm

Dinner at 8pm

 

Tuesday

Leave hotel for trip to Bra at 9am

Visit to University and wine tour 10.30 12.30

Lunch in Boccondivino 1pm

Return to Turin 4.30 – 5.00pm

Dinner at 8pm

 

 

Wednesday

After breakfast guided tour of the city of Turin 10am- 1pm

Cafes, museums, churches, piazza, ice cream

Afternoon free

5pm gather for apperitivo (optional)

Dinner 8pm

 

 

Thursday

10 am visit to the Egyptian museum

1pm gather for lunch in restaurant near hotel (optional)

Bus leaves for airport at 4.30pm

Flight leaves at 9pm

Arrives Dublin 11.30ish

Bus back to Cork 12.30am, Arrive Cork at 2.30-3.00am, Friday 7th September

 

Important information

 

An event account will be open in the college in the next week or two. This account will allow you to pay for your trip in two ways:

  1. The full amount can be lodged (€440) as soon as the account opens.
  2. 4 equal payments of €110 can be made, the first must be no later than the 30th of April. There will be no allowance for late payments as flights have to be booked.

Only those that have made either the full payment or the first payment (on time) will be considered booked and going on the trip. There is no obligation to go on this trip.

There will be no refunds, so think long and hard about how serious you are on travelling.

To keep the cost down students will share rooms as already discussed, this will be organised by your committee members (Donna, Shauna and Rebecca). If you wish to have a single room the cost will be increased by €90.

When lodging money to the event account make sure you include you name for identification purposes. Also, on your first lodgement you will also have to include your passport details.

 

Fundraising Cookery Demonstration

On the 8th of May we will hold a fundraising cookery demonstration. All those going on the trip will be expected to sell tickets (including the lecturers). Tickets will be €30 each. The demonstration will consist of the following:

  • Drink reception on arrival
  • Copy of the recipes
  • 4 dishes will be demonstrated based on Italian Cuisine
  • Everyone attending will receive a taste of each course
  • During the interval, tea/coffee and pastries
  • A raffle will be held
  • Starting at 7pm finishing at 9.45

 

Money raised at this event will be used as a contingency fund for the students on the trip. All use of this fund will be documented and receipted, and excess left in the fund on our return will be divided equally between the students who travelled.
